Mrs. Kathryn Ripley is the Director of Bands at Tremper High School. She came to Tremper in 2013 after being the director at Lance Middle School since 2005. She also taught elementary band in Kenosha from 2002. Before moving to Wisconsin, Mrs. Ripley taught bands in Iowa, Illinois, Minnesota, Arizona and New York.
Originally from Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Mrs. Ripley holds a Bachelor of Music in Education from the University of Iowa and a Master of Music in Flute performance from Northern Arizona University. Her primary teachers were Betty Bang Mather, Joanne Chadima, Syd Zeitlin, and Phil Swanson. Mrs. Ripley is a member of the Racine Symphony flute section and performs with the Kenosha Pops Band. She is a member of the National Band Association, the National Association for Music Education, and the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society.
Mrs. Ripley and her husband, Jim, have two children, Erik and Jacy, both graduates of Tremper High School.
